Remoter’s Life: Linda Grehn

Linda is a Teamlead Sales & Marketing for a cloud company while traveling the world. Read her interview to learn how she works remotely.

Linda, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m Linda, 26 year old with German roots and have been working remotely since beginning of 2020.

I love travelling around the world, living at new places and getting to know foreign cultures.
Luckily my current employer allows me to do all of that while working. To take my workspace with me wherever I go.

I love having a balanced work-life and thus spending my spare time doing yoga, joining local social activities or doing volunteer work. Life has so much to offer!

Can you tell us more about your remote job?

I work for a German IT company that focuses on Microsoft cloud services.
We are our customers’ guide for their digital transformation to the cloud.
I’m leading the marketing and sales team, coordinating all their activities and developing this area strategically.

Do you have a dedicated space to work?

I mostly work from home — wherever that is at that moment.

Sometimes I like to book a spot in a coworking space to get in touch with other people and have a change of environment. Apart from that my laptop and portable screens are my daily companions.

What does your typical workday look like?

I start working at 9am German local time (whenever I change the timezone I have to consider that).
A typical day is a mix between meetings with colleagues, partners or customers and working on my to dos. This could for example be working on a campaign, on account plans or managing one of our customers projects.

Not to forget a proper lunch break to recharge.

My days usually end between 5 and 6pm.

What tools do you use to stay productive?

I mostly work with Microsoft Teams to communicate with internal and external parties.
In general I only work with the M365 apps and services.

What is your current workspace setup?

Desk, laptop, portable screen.

What’s your favourite unplugged activity

Exploring the area with people (coffees, yoga, walks)

What do you like most about working remotely?

I mostly like about working remotely that I can decide where I want to live. My job doesn’t determine where I have to be. That allows me to fulfill my personal dreams.
