This Week’s featured Remote Worker is Elisa Borgato, a Web Writer, living in Padova, Italy. Some months ago she quit her career as a travel agent and started Leggimee.it, a Blog where she writes about Japan. Check out how she makes remote work, work for her.

Q: Elisa, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Some months ago I quit my travel agent career to start an independent path. I wanted to pursue my lifetime dream and dedicate myself to writing.

Q: Can you tell us more about your job?

I opened some months ago a Blog, LeggiMee, where I write about Japan. I used to travel a lot in that country, and I have studied its language and culture for years (even if the process has not ended at all!). My desire is to spread my love for Japan among who wants to listen, and try to overcome all the prejudices related to it. In my blog I also post short stories which I love to write.

Q: Do you have a dedicated space to work?

Wherever I am feeling inspired. It could be my kitchen, my bedroom, libraries and cafes. I really can’t say no to a good cup of coffee.

Q: What does your typical workday look like?

It depends. I wake up early to walk my dog out. It lasts about 30/45 minutes, which is very useful for my inspiration to wake up properly. Then I connect to my PC, check emails and updates, and then start following my daily schedule, which can consists on writing, writing and writing, or dedicating to my social media accounts and then writing, writing and writing. I wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world!

Q: What tools do you use to stay productive?

First of all, I need a good cup of coffee. Secondly, going with my dog out keeps me more active and positive.

Q: What is your current workspace setup?

Just my PC on my desk. I am surrounded by books which I will study to be more specific on my articles related to Japan.

Q: What is your favourite unplugged activity?

Writing my short stories, going out with my boyfriend and dog, reading…

Q: What do you like most about working remotely?

I like that I can work during days but also at nights: it’s just up to me. I like that any place could be my workspace. Sometimes I work while sitting on a bench at a park surrounded by nature.

Thank you Elisa!
